Rowling, Joanne Kathleen (2012) ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone‘, UK 15th anniversary edition, published by Bloomsbury, signed and inscribed by the author. This is one of only fifteen copies given to the winner and the fourteen runner-ups of the anniversary competition in 2012. Entrants had to submit a letter explaining in no more than 50 words why the reader loved Harry Potter. It was encouraged to draw doodles and make their letters as elaborate as possible. This copy was won by Chloe Esslemont who was then sixteen years old and came as one of the runner-ups. Accompanied with the book is the letter with the original art as shown in the images. The book is housed in a bespoke full leather solander box. Provenance: auctioned at Hansons in December 2022. This is the rarest Harry Potter book in existence and with fifteen copies even eclipsing the 500 hardback first editions which were published back in 1997. We have only ever seen two copies that were sold on the market and this is one of them.
