Isaac Asimov (1982) ‘Foundation’s Edge‘, US first edition, first printing, first state, published by Doubleday & Company. Signed on the title page by the author without further inscriptions. First state with the correct gutter code M36 on page 365. Condition: near fine. Book is tight and visibly unread. Spine tips a little pushed. The page block is exceptionally clean. There is no foxing and no previous owner’s scribbles of any sorts. Dust jacket is unclipped with a little edge wear. This is the fourth novel and late sequel to the seminal Foundation science fiction trilogy which was published in the early 1950s. Doubleday begged Asimov to write a sequel for years and after paying him a hefty advance Asimov penned Foundation’s Edge which won him the 1983 Hugo and Locus Award, was nominated for the Nebula and – unsurprisingly – became a bestseller.
