Description Hammerite Rust Remover comes in either a Gel or Dip application. Hammerite Rust Remover Gel is specially formulated for the safe and effective removal of rust from metal. This non-drip formula is ideal for vertical surfaces and removes rust in only 2 to 3 hours. Hammerite Rust Remover Dip is ideal for car parts, nuts, bolts and garden tools. You simply immerse rusty metal items into the dip and after a couple of hours they will be rust-free. How to use Hammerite Rust Remover Gel Use a wire brush to remove loose rust. apply the Rust Remover Gel liberally with a brush. Work the gel into the surface. Leave for 15-20 minutes. Repeat the process, applying additional gel as necessary at 30 minute intervals for a period of 2 to 3 hours or until rust is removed. If the rust has not been completely removed repeat the procedure. Allow to dry. Note that under some conditions a light deposit of flash rust can develop. This can be wiped off or over-coated when dry. To prevent new rust forming the surface should be over-coated the same day. For best results use Hammerite Metal Paint. After use, remove as much Gel as possible from brushes before cleaning with running water using a wire brush to assist. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost. How to use Hammerite Rust Remover Dip Use a wire brush to remove loose rust. Shake container well and pour the required amount into a plastic container. Dilute 1 part Rust Remover Dip with 9 parts water and mix thoroughly. Immerse the rusty item in the diluted solution overnight. Remove and rinse thoroughly under running water using a wire brush to remove rust deposits. If the rust has not been completely removed immerse in Hammerite Rust Remover Dip for a further 24 hours. Leave to dry. To prevent new rust forming the surface should be painted the same day. For best results use Hammerite Metal Paint.
