Beautifully rebound in fine full green morocco (leather), with all all three edges gilded, silk bookmark and gild stamp which replicates the famous original design. Housed in a buckram solander box lined with black velvet which cushions and protects the book. An absolutely gorgeous production. Condition: free from any stamps, previous owner names or bookplates. Internally clean with a few foxing spots to the prelims. Retains the original tissue guard. Presents in fine condition. Jane Austen needs no introduction. Her novels have become world literature and are studied for English degrees. Pride and Prejudice is one of her most beloved novels. Originally published anonymously in 1813 the novel was well received from the start. However, the Peacock edition played a major part in making the novel a bestseller.
